What to remember

In Armenia, an AM subcategory driving licence may be obtained from age 16. The minimum age for categories A, B and C and subcategories A1, B1 and C1 is 18. For D and D1 it is 21 together with the relevant prior B/C/C1 entitlement, while the law provides a special case from age 19 for persons serving in the armed forces and other troops. For BE, CE, DE, C1E and D1E, the minimum age is 19 together with the relevant base category; for category T it is 20. For an international driving permit, the minimum is 18 for the A/B/AM/A1/B1 group and 21 for the C/D/BE/CE/DE/C1/D1/C1E/D1E group. A national licence is usually issued for 10 years and an international permit for up to 3 years, but not beyond the validity of the national licence or the relevant medical document.
