What to remember
Choose speed not only by the posted maximum, but also by visibility, weather, road condition, load and traffic density. Under Armenian rules, the general maximum in built-up areas is 60 km/h, in residential and courtyard areas 20 km/h, and outside built-up areas passenger cars and trucks up to 3.5 t may travel at up to 90 km/h, or up to 110 km/h on a motorway unless another limit applies. Following distance must be sufficient to avoid a collision if the vehicle ahead brakes sharply.
